Waymigo is for adults 18 and over. Be authentic, protect privacy, and treat people with care. In this public beta, social activity is simulated, but signed-in reports are sent to the team’s private review queue. You can also send a concern by email to info@waymigo.app.
1. A community built around travel
Waymigo brings people together through shared travel plans, small-group experiences, and local discoveries. These Community Guidelines explain the behavior we expect from travelers, hosts, and anyone using the service. They form part of our Terms & Conditions.
These standards apply to accounts, profiles, plans, reviews, and messages, and to conduct connected with any real Waymigo meetup or experience if those services become available. The current public beta uses sample Lisbon content: bookings, conversations, invitations, reviews, and vouchers are simulated.
2. Be an adult. Be yourself.
You must be at least 18 to use Waymigo. Do not misrepresent your age, identity, qualifications, or relationship with a business. Use your own name or a nickname you genuinely use. Profile photos should represent you, and you must have permission to share any photos or other material you upload. Never impersonate another person or create deceptive accounts.
Do not organize contact with minors through Waymigo or share their private information. If you suspect someone is under 18, contact us using the reporting details below. Sample profiles and badges in the beta are illustrative and do not verify a real person.
3. Respect people and their boundaries
Waymigo is for travel companionship and shared experiences. It is not a dating or hookup service. Do not use it for sexual solicitation, unsolicited sexual messages or images, or pressure for romantic contact.
- No harassment, bullying, hate speech, discrimination, threats, stalking, violence, or exploitation.
- Respect a refusal, a request for space, or a decision to leave a plan. Stop contacting someone who asks you to stop, and never bypass a block through another account or channel.
- Do not pressure anyone to drink, take substances, spend money, share personal information, or participate in something they do not want to do.
- Do not share sexually explicit material, graphic violence, or content that encourages self-harm or harm to others.
These expectations also apply to behavior at gatherings connected with Waymigo. Someone’s appearance, background, or decision to travel alone is never permission to ignore their boundaries.
4. Protect personal information
Share only the information needed to make a plan. Do not publicly post another person’s contact details, precise location, accommodation address, travel documents, or private conversations without their permission. Avoid sharing your own room number, financial details, passwords, or live travel movements. You may share necessary evidence privately with the Waymigo team or appropriate authorities when reporting a concern.
Ask before photographing people or posting photos of them. Do not track or expose someone’s whereabouts. Respect their profile and date-visibility choices. Our Privacy Policy explains account information and browser storage; the beta’s visibility settings demonstrate future sharing choices rather than publishing your plans to real travelers.
5. Keep scams, spam, and abuse out
Do not ask fellow travelers for loans, donations, investment contributions, account credentials, or money under false pretenses. Do not send phishing links, malware, repetitive unsolicited messages, referral spam, or misleading promotions.
Never invent a reservation, review, verification badge, discount, business affiliation, or payment request. Do not scrape personal information, evade account restrictions, or interfere with the service. Do not use Waymigo to arrange illegal activity, facilitate exploitation, or trade prohibited goods or services.
The beta does not collect payments. Its vouchers and checkout confirmations have no real booking or redemption value. If someone asks you to pay to honor a demo confirmation, contact us before taking any action.
6. Make considerate, safer plans
When arranging real-world travel independently or through any future live Waymigo feature, verify the details and follow local rules. A listing or suggestion is not a guarantee of safety.
- Choose a public place for a first meeting, tell someone you trust about your plans, and arrange your own way home.
- Describe the meeting point, timing, group size, expected costs, accessibility limitations, and any relevant risks accurately.
- Tell participants promptly if plans change. Be considerate about cancellations and attendance; never invent an attendance record.
- Agree on shared costs clearly and respect each person’s budget. Do not pressure people to send money to someone they have not verified.
- Leave if you feel uncomfortable. Nobody owes a group an explanation for leaving an unsafe situation.
Our beta does not arrange real meetups, confirm attendance, or provide emergency assistance. If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services.
7. Be transparent about hosting and promotions
Waymigo’s concept includes hosted experiences, stays, and local perks. Commercial offers must be clearly identified and use only channels and features Waymigo authorizes. Do not disguise an advertisement as a traveler recommendation or repeatedly approach people with unsolicited sales pitches.
If live hosting becomes available, hosts must accurately describe what they provide, their role, the full price, inclusions, restrictions, cancellation terms, and any required qualifications. Do not imply that Waymigo has checked a host, property, or activity unless we expressly say so. The current sample listings do not establish real partnerships, inventory, or host approval.
8. Give honest, relevant feedback
Share feedback only about something you actually experienced, and distinguish feedback about a venue, an activity, and a host. Do not fabricate attendance, buy reviews, demand a positive rating, coordinate retaliation, or offer rewards that depend on the rating given.
Keep reviews relevant and leave out personal contact details. A safety concern deserves a direct report rather than a threat to publish a bad review. In this beta, reviews and “Joined via Waymigo” badges demonstrate the interface; they do not establish verified attendance or a real reputation score.
9. Report concerns and use blocking
For a concern about Waymigo, use “Report a concern” in the app footer, Safety dialog, or a sample profile or chat. Sign in to submit. You can also email info@waymigo.app. Describe what happened, roughly when it happened, and the account or page involved. Include only the information needed to explain the concern; do not send passwords, payment details, or identity documents.
The reporting form sends your account email, the selected reason, and your description to a private Firebase queue for the Waymigo team to review. Wait for a confirmation reference before assuming delivery. If delivery cannot be confirmed, keep the form open and retry or email us. Reports sent through the old demo flow are not automatically submitted. Sample traveler profiles are clearly identified in the report. Blocking still hides a sample profile locally; it does not create a block against a real person. Reporting and blocking are separate actions.
Make reports honestly. Do not submit deliberately false accusations, retaliate against someone for reporting, or coordinate misuse of safety tools. We do not offer emergency response or round-the-clock moderation. For immediate danger, use local emergency services.
10. How we respond and how to ask for review
When actual misuse of the service or an account is brought to our attention, we may assess the available information and take action appropriate to the seriousness, context, and pattern of behavior. Actions may include a warning, removal of content we control, restrictions, suspension, or account termination. Serious incidents may warrant immediate restrictions.
Reports submitted through the current form are available to authorized project administrators for review. There is no automatic moderation, guaranteed response time, or email alert for each submission. We cannot remotely remove information stored only in your browser. We may address actual account or service misuse under these Guidelines and our Terms.
If you believe a restriction or decision was a mistake, email info@waymigo.app from your account email where possible, explain which decision you want reviewed, and provide relevant context. Do not create another account to evade a restriction. These Guidelines do not limit your applicable legal rights.
11. Updates and contact
We may update these Guidelines as Waymigo develops. We will update the date above and explain material changes on the service, with any additional notice required by law. New live features will need working safety processes and clear disclosures before launch.
For questions, concerns, or a request to review an account decision, contact info@waymigo.app. Read these Guidelines alongside our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.
